Benefits of pilates
Pilates is a body conditioning and fitness system that improves the balance, alignment, flexibility and movement of your body. Through particular focus on proper breathing and stabilization of back and stomach muscles, pilates can help with injury recovery, good posture, sports performance and stress reduction.
Shelagh Keegan
Shelagh is a qualified and experienced Pilates Foundation teacher who runs regular classes at a number of studios in London. She is very attentive to the individual needs of her students. Not only is she trained in the classical repertoire of Pilates, but also in the further understanding of biomechanics which helps her to adapt the exercises to individual requirements and abilities.
Students are encouraged to discuss with Shelagh their individual health condition, such as injuries and back problems, if they wish to do so. Shelagh can be contacted at: sak2353{at}aol.com
Holly Nuttall
Holly Nuttall's classes run on the belief that a tailored approach will allow each individual to fulfil their potential and gain maximum satisfaction from Pilates.
Originally from a marketing and communications background Holly trained as a Pilates teacher after practising Pilates for over six years and being convinced by the benefits she experienced in her own body. She is passionate about bringing this to others and undertook an extensive teacher training programme with the Pilates Foundation, an organisation run by teachers for teachers, that offers one of the most rigorous and in-depth teacher training courses available. Lasting 14 months the training included over 500 hours of practical study, applied anatomy and physiology and workshops. The course director Anoushka Boone trained with Alan Herdman as well as one of Joseph Pilates original students, Eve Gentry.

Rosalie Pastrana
Rosalie Pastrana suffered from numerous back aches while growing up. After struggling with different exercise regimes for years she decided to leave Spain and in 1997 she moved to the UK in search of a better quality of life. She came across the Pilates Method while practising Yoga in London. In no time her back pain receded, replaced by a sense of balance and wellbeing that made her want to study and develop this body movement discipline in depth.
Now a qualified Pilates Foundation Matwork Teacher and running a number of Pilates rehab classes in several London studios, Rosalie believes that both physical and emotional pain play a significant role in the way we hold ourselves. She loves helping others to free their bodies, and to use Pilates to know themselves better and to have fun.
She is commited to continuous professional development , currently training to become a studio pilates teacher at Pilates in Motion with Anoushka Boone, one of the UK's pre-eminent Pilates teachers, and regularly attends Pilates Foundation's anatomy workshops.
