Benefits of meditation
Meditation can greatly help in coping with stress and inducing a deep state of mindful relaxation. It improves our ability to focus and concentrate. Moreover, it may complement treatments for heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma and insomnia, among other chronic ailments and medical conditions. For some, meditation may be part of a spiritual journey towards inner peace.

Yogic meditation course outline
Find out how you can fit the benefits of meditation and yoga into your life and reap almost immediate results. This 6 week course includes both explanation and practice in every class. The topics covered include meditation and managing stress, the science of sound, 10 yogic secrets of success, yogic postures, spiritual growth: searching for the real 'you'. The last class will be a personal training session with Dada tailored to individual needs.

Meditation and managing stress
More meditation (and perhaps less medication) can empower us to positively deal with the ongoing stresses that many of us face in our busy modern lives. Stress can be defined as 'wear and tear' (physically or psychologically). Meditation and related practices help us to transform negative or difficult scenarios into something positive or at least neutral.

The science of sound: mantra and meditation
Meditation works through the mind. The calmer the mind, the more clear and deep it can see. We explore how sound effects our thinking and how to utilize positive sounds (in the form of yogic mantras) to focus the mind during meditation.

Ten yogic secrets of success
In the classic era of yoga, teachers formulated 10 principles or guidelines that they found to be most beneficial for keeping a clear, focused mind during meditation and in one's daily life. These principles are applicable in any society, for any person. They help one in meditation and in our relations with others.

Yogic postures
We will practice standard yoga exercises and learn how and why they have a positive effect on our health.

Spiritual growth: searching for the real 'you'
What can we take from this course to apply to our daily life? We discuss some of the ongoing practice of meditation and yoga, particularly through the tradition of ashtanga yoga. We also discuss how one can learn a personal technique of meditation.

Personal training session with Dada
Individual practice will be reviewed and depending on your needs, you will get a personal plan and further training for continuing with the meditation and yoga practice.

Dada Jyotirupananda
Dada Jyotirupananda is a yogic monk, practicing and teaching a system of yogic meditation from an ancient Indian tradition. He is a disciple of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (1921-1990), a modern Yogic master. Dada has been practicing meditation for over 35 years. As well as experiencing innumerable benefits in his own life he has seen how meditation has brought about positive changes in the lives of many others.

He has taught meditation in about 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. He is the editor of New Renaissance a journal for spiritual and social awakening.

Dada’s book, “Meditation: Searching for the real you” was published in 2009. The book, according to Ross Heaven, psychologist, healer, shaman and author, “leads us to a new understanding of what meditation might really mean in our lives and the benefits we might reap from it.”
